Filtration Section Applied in Oil Processing
1. Miscella filtration: The miscella contains lots of fines after solvent extraction that needs filtration; the fines might cause serious corrosion to downstream distillation system, especially in processing canola seeds.
2. Crude oil filtration prior to refinery: crude oil should be pre-filtered before pumping into deodorization and hydrogenation equipment, otherwise process would not in normal function.
3. Filtration section in Refinery: crude oil filtration in water degumming, filtration in bleached oil.
4. Filtration prior to bagging: polish filtering before bagging：
Based on all the demanding process, JoveFlow recommend the following filter equipment:
1. For crude oil filtration: mechanical self-cleaning filter, installed after the hydrocylone for further filtering impurities in crude oil, in case of blocking the plate heat exchanger and distillation vessels, also prevent fines oxidant during distillation and decrease the oil quality. Besides, the fines will precipitate at the bottom of vessels thus increasing the cleaning cost.
2. Crude oil filtration prior to refinery: mechanical self-cleaning filter, installed before the centrifugal to prevent fines causing damage to the equipment.
3. Filtration during refinery: vertical or horizontal leaf filter
4. Filtration prior to bagging: bag or cartridge filter, good looking of the oil is a very nice selling point, so polish filtration is a needed. Necessary pre-filtering is very important since filter element’s precision is pretty high. In addition, two or more filter equipment are highly recommended since the operator do not wish to stop for a while because of blocking of filter element when in running, so the production line is continuously running even the bag or element is changing.
